If we took your pet's picture and you don't see it here but would like it here, just call the office and let us know.  We'll do our best to oblige.

“Sydney” Huh is a 15-week-old Siberian Husky.  Her owners take her jogging at night to use up her boundless energy and also avoid the heat with her thick coat; still she comes home and likes to lie on the air conditioning vent.  Her favorite toy is a stuffed raccoon with a squeaker.  Sometimes she hides under the bed and has to be lured out with a toy.

“Daisy” Gilhart is a 12-week-old Cairn Terrier. Her middle name is "Bunny" because she hops and pounces like a rabbit.  She likes to be chased in the yard, and will stop and wait for owners to come chase her.  The Gilharts have another Cairn, “Aggie,” at home and the two dogs are starting to become good friends.

The Thomas family adopted this soon-to be-named, 12-week-old kitty just 2 days ago.  She was abandoned in a barn in Wisconsin but is in great shape.  The other cat, “Laura,” is not a big fan yet, and the new kitty jumped in the tub to get away from her.

“Mimi” Uribe is an 8-week-old Chihuahua Mix.  Her favorite toy is a teddy bear with a big heart on it that is as big as she is; still she carries it around in her mouth.  She sleeps in a little basket.  The lawnmower startled her and she barked at it.

“Kinnick” Marsh is an 11-week-old West Highland White Terrier, or Westie.  He’s named after the University of Iowa football stadium (The Marsh’s other dog's name is “Hawkeye.”)  Kinnick is goofy, but getting along well with the older dog.  He loves to play tug of war and has taken to lying in a fondue pot under the cabinet in the kitchen.  The pot is quiet and, for now, just the right size.

"Lily" Gallagher is a 10-week-old Pug. She joined her new family a few days ago from her home in Indiana. Her favorite thing to do now is to play with squeaky toys and make as much noise as she can.

"Loki" (left) and "Freya" Barten are 8-week-old kittens who were adopted after being rescued from the side of the road.  They seem to be littermates even though Loki is much bigger. Loki is very affectionate and loves to cuddle, while Freya is more shy and reserved.  Sometimes they play very rough!

"Tux" Devries is an 8-week old Boston Terrier. He has a shaggy, little toy sheep that he likes to toss around and play with.  He is very vocal and loves to cuddle; he plays hard and then he will just stop and go to sleep wherever he happens to be.  Tux is adjusting to city life very well.

J.D. Kim is an 11-week-old Miniature Pinscher who only weighs 3 pounds.  He just joined his new family today so they don’t know much about him, but he’s friendly and playful.  He already made friends with and loves the kids in his new family, a  4-year-old-girl and 2-year-old boy.  He’s looking forward to his first toy and starting obedience class.

“Ernest” Hill is an 8-week-old Domestic Shorthair kitten who came from a shelter missing the back half of his tail.  No one knows how he lost it, but it doesn’t affect his playful disposition.  Like many cats, Ernest squints at the infrared focusing light on the camera and so none of the photos caught him with his eyes open.  He has long legs and an awkward gait like Bambi.  He’s only met his new older sister “Jordan” through the glass so far, and she’s not sure what to make of this new ball of energy.

May 25, 2010

“Augie” Voss is a very lucky 16-month old Border Collie Mix.  A facility in Wisconsin found him on the internet at a shelter in the Carolinas, where he was at risk of euthanasia if he wasn’t adopted.  They rescued him and brought him north, treated him for heartworm disease, fixed him up and found his new home.  He loves his walks and is a high energy dog that can’t get enough exercise.  His favorite toy is a big rubber chew bone.

Who’s a happy dog?  This is “Zoey” Smith, a 5-month old Labrador Retriever mix.  She came from a shelter and she loves her new sister “Sarah,” a 5-year-old Jack Russell Terrier.  They sleep together, but Zoey likes to play outside while Sarah much prefers the indoors.  Zoey learned to sit on command very quickly.  When she gets petted she collapses on the floor to get belly rubs.

"Holly" Weigel is a 5-month-old Yorkshire Terrier.  She loves her new home and plays with her new sister, "Keely." Holly is sporting a temporary "ear bonnet" to train her ears to stay upright. Our technician Sara drew a heart to make it a nurse's cap.  She loves to cuddle and give kisses.
